Small working Groups in Your Tech Collab

Small working groups are essential to achieving collaborative goals within your Tech Collab. These small teams play a pivotal role in minimizing time commitments for collaborative champions.

What is a Small Working Group?

A working group is a subset of dedicated champions focused on enhancing behavioral health service access for systems-involved youth and families. Each group tackles specific tasks within the larger collaborative framework.

The number of working groups required depends on collaborative size and goals. Ideally, each group comprises 5-7 members from different levels of agency involvement. Think of these groups as task forces, reporting progress regularly to the entire collaborative.

Establishing Working Groups

Effective management of working groups involves appointing champions and establishing a structured framework. This includes:

  1. Scheduling work group meetings

  2. Developing specific meeting agenda

  3. Recording minutes and outlining action items between meetings

  4. Monitoring action item completion in relation to collaborative goals

Refer to our Additional Resources tab for the Consideration 2: Forming small working groups worksheet and a template to structure the group and identify the mission, vision, and objectives of the group.
